Class 1 Truck Driver
Small's Expediting & TerrX Freight Lines is looking for an Experienced Class 1 Truck Driver operating out of Whitehorse, Yukon. Small's Expediting is The Yukon's largest Expediter focusing on our Territory's mining & exploration, renewable resources, emergency measures and construction. TerrX Freight Lines, a subsidiary of Small's Expediting, focuses on delivering grocery and commodity throughout The Yukon and our communities.
About The Job:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for:
-Loading & Unloading your truck
-Local pickup and Delivery of goods
-Short-haul (inter-territorial) driving
-Operating a forklift and pallet jack
-Assisting others in the loading/unloading process
-Delivery of goods, obtaining POD's
-Maintain log books in accordance to Transport Canada Regulations
-Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections
-Maintain documentation relating to trips and manifests
Essential Qualifications:
-Valid Class 1 Drivers License with clean abstract and medical
-(3)Three or more years northern driving experience mandatory
-Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
-Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
-Capable of heavy lifting
-Experience working and driving off-highway in remote settings
-Experience operating in adverse conditions
-Knowledge of safe loading and securement practices
-Ability to clearly communicate (written and oral) in english
-Ability to obtain WHMIS and TDG within 30 days
Compensation:
-Wage Dependent on experience. Overtime is available.
