This will be a very diverse job in a fast-paced environment. Northern Tales is a small company, and flexibility in many fields is required. In this position, you will have to have great teamwork skills as well as individual decision-making skills. The main aspect of this job is guiding day tours, meet & greet, driver-guide tours, Aurora tours and sightseeing tours, and natural interpretation tours. We offer continuous training. This position is for an outgoing person looking to work well in a team, be independent, and develop ideas to help grow Northern Tales successfully.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Co-ordinate recreation activities
  • Describe points of interest
  • Provide historical and cultural facts related to various sites
  • Resolve itinerary and other problems
  • Ensure and monitor luggage transfers
  • Attend to hotel, airport, train and other check-in and check-out procedures
  • Develop and deliver commentaries
  • Utilize microphones or other communication devices
  • Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups
  • Provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion and other details
  • sell souvenirs
  • assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Transport or guide individuals or groups on tours of cities
  • Conduct guided tours of museums and historical, heritage and other sites,
  • answer inquiries and provide information
  • Independent work in the fields of guiding, planning and scheduling

  • Class 4 driver's licence & First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate


Assets:

  • German language skills are a great asset but not required.
