Eagle Plains Hotel is seeking a reliable and service-oriented Bartender to join our team in a unique remote Yukon setting. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our hotel, restaurant, and lounge operation on the Dempster Highway.
We are looking for someone who can provide friendly customer service, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming bar area. Willing to relocate to a remote location.
Staff accommodation is available.
What you will do
- Arrange the bar area to create an attractive and organized presentation
- Prepare and serve mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Serve food or snacks to guests
- Provide recommendations on drink selections
- Clean the bar area and wash glassware
- Store beverage and food products properly
- Collect cash, credit, debit, or other payment for beverages
- Operate the cash register
- Assist with short-order cooking and basic food preparation when required
- Enforce territorial liquor legislation and responsible service standards
Requirements
- English language ability
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 7 months to less than 1 year of related experience
- Smart Serve certification
- Able to work on site in a rural and remote location
- Comfortable working day, evening, and night shifts
