Opportunity Overview
This contracted position invites expressions of interest from Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to work in the new Alliance Health Primary Care Clinic and support improved access to primary health care services. Based on available clinic space Alliance Health Primary Care Clinic is seeking 4-6 service providers. As the clinic is open in the evenings and weekends a wide variety of work arrangements can be accommodated including full time, part-time and on an as needed basis. Preference will be given to applicants who are available to complete some regular evening or weekend work.
Nurse Practitioners will provide comprehensive, culturally safe, and trauma-informed care practicing to the full scope of their legislative authority.
Program Description
Nurse Practitioners (NP) will provide comprehensive, family-centred primary care across the lifespan, integrating advanced clinical skills, evidence-based practice, and specialized nursing knowledge to independently manage health concerns ranging from acute to chronic and simple to complex.
Nurse Practitioners work within a team of nurse practitioners and will be supported with a NP clinical lead to provide primary care in a clinical setting. NP's will have the opportunity to provide care in two specialized clinics, specifically the Yukon Sexual Health Clinic and the Yukon Women’s Midlife Health Clinic.

Compensation
Level 1 = $162.50 per hour
Level 2 = $171.06 per hour
The position will be classified into one of the following levels:
Level 1 – Nurse Practitioner (Early Career)
Less than five (5) years of Nurse Practitioner experience
Level 2 – Nurse Practitioner (Experienced)
Five (5) or more years of Nurse Practitioner experience
Contract information
Appointment terms and conditions
- This position is offered as a three (3) year contract.
- Start date is flexible and will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.
- The contract may be extended based on operational requirements and mutual agreement.
- This contract does not provide any additional benefits such as paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid parental leave, extended health benefits, or pension contributions.
- As a contracted self-employed Nurse Practitioner, the successful candidates are required to maintain appropriate professional liability insurance and Workers Safety and Compensation coverage for the duration of the contract.
Time Commitment
Specific time commitment will be based on expressed interest. A variety of work arrangements (i.e. full-time, part-time and as needed) will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants who can complete some regular evening or weekend work.
Full time = 2024 hours per year

Ability to meet the following conditions are contractual requirements and are required in advance of the contract start date.
- Eligible for registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association

- Ability to meet all credentialing and onboarding requirements for Yukon Health and Social Services.
Qualifications
Education and Licensing:
- Master’s degree in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)
- Eligible for licensure with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
- Additional training or experience in midlife health or sexual health would be considered an asset
Experience and Competencies:
- Recent experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care or comparable setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive care across the lifespan, including management of acute and chronic conditions
- Strong autonomous clinical decision-making skills, including diagnosis, prescribing, and ordering/interpreting diagnostics
- Experience working in interdisciplinary team environments
- Experience working in a rural or remote clinical setting
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care
- Collaborative and committed to working within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical practice, including mentorship, preceptorship, or program development
Selection Process
This opportunity is a contracted, self-employed, Nurse Practitioner position and is not a Yukon Government employee position.
The selection process will follow a review involving representatives from Yukon Government, Department of Health and Social Services.
