Rate: Salary Range: $19.83/hr - $21.45/hr Plus Tips
Klondike Visitors Association (KVA) is a not-for-profit organization that operates attractions in Dawson City, Yukon, including Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall. Proceeds from these attractions are used to advertise and promote the Klondike as a tourism destination.
Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall offers a fun and friendly working environment. We aim to promote a great night out for visitors from all over as they step back in time to the Gold Rush era. Diamond Tooth Gerties provides turn of the century themed shows and live entertainment, and includes a bar, snack bar, slot machines, red dog, roulette, blackjack, texas holdem poker, and a money wheel.
All candidates should be of unquestionable reliability and trustworthiness, and be able to work closely and cooperatively with staff and public in a casino environment. Current First Aid certification and year round availability are considered assets. Potential candidates may be required to submit to a security clearance.
Candidates should have the following minimum qualifications:
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Strong math skills and experience working with cash.
- Knowledge of computer spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to deal with the public and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Personable, neat and clean in appearance.
- Trustworthy and bondable with security clearance.
- Required to work flexible days and hours with limited breaks and long periods of standing up.
- Required to work in a potentially stressful casino environment, including gaming, liquor service and entertainment.
- Required to perform physical duties and wear a themed costume.
- Working area is a locked room at close quarters.
- This is a Bargaining Unit position (Public Service Alliance of Canada).
