Journeyman Heavy Duty Field Mechanic
Seeking Heavy Duty Mechanic with heavy truck and equipment experience to run a service truck in Whitehorse and surrounding remote work locations.
Successful applicant will have 10 years experience in western Canada servicing and repairing heavy trucks and equipment, and able to supply own tools to stock a company supplied service truck. Red Seal is an asset.
Applicants should demonstrate experience and knowledge of maintenance and repairs of a range of equipment. The fleet includes:
- Link belt and Caterpillar excavators
-Caterpillar dozers, D5-D10
-Caterpillar and Volvo wheel loaders
-Caterpillar graders 14-16
-Kenworth T800 tractors, belly dump and side dump trailers
In addition to experience, the successful applicant will:
-Provide proof of certification in the HDM field
-Possess a valid drivers license
-Be willing to work long hours in challenging conditions
-Have the ability to lift 80 pounds
Welding, PMVI, CSE and any other certifications are not mandatory but will be an asset and reflected in hourly rate.
Pay range will be based on applicable experience.
About the work:
PS Sidhu Trucking is a construction, development and mining company based in Whitehorse, Yukon. Projects will be Municipal and Highway construction, as well some remote mining work.
Field mechanic position is seasonal, with the potential for year round work in our large Whitehorse maintenance facility.
