G-P Distributing is a locally owned and operated food service distributor that has been servicing the Yukon and North Western NWT since 1995.

Position

G-P Distributing is looking to hire a Delivery Truck Driver. This is a fast paced, physically demanding role. The main function of this position is to deliver (food, equipment, supplies) to our customers. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who possesses a strong work ethic and can provide excellent customer service.

Job Type: Delivery Driver Class: Full-time Hourly Pay: $25.00 - 28.00 per hour (based on experience)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm NOC Code: 75201

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete pre-trip reports daily and follow-up with the manager to report repairs needed.
  • Determine the most efficient delivery route daily, prior to loading product.
  • Loading/unloading product(s) from company vehicle, using proper care and safe handling procedures.
  • Delivering products to customers in a timely fashion.
  • Checking off orders at delivery point with customer to ensure satisfaction.
  • Put the product where the customer requests.
  • Operate a vehicle to the highest standard of safety.
  • Communicate with warehouse staff and management on priorities.
  • Transport product returns, back to our facility as required.
  • Store crates and pallets.
  • Ensure returns are dealt with promptly and stored in the appropriate location.
  • Upkeep of the interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Write credits and hand in the credit book daily.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Perform warehouse duties as required. Tasks include loading and loading vehicles, putting away freight, picking orders, counting inventory and assist in ensuring a clean and tidy working environment in the warehouse
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Must have and keep a valid Yukon Driver’s Class 3 License with a clean abstract.
  • A minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
  • Some previous experience with pick-ups and delivery driving would be an asset.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Awareness of Public Safety and Security measures in place to prevent injuries.
  • Capable of maintaining a professional image and enhancing customer relationships.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to comfortably lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Basic math skills.
  • First Aid, Food Safe, WHMIS would be an asset.
