Solid Sounds Reinforcement (SSR) is seeking a Senior Audio-Visual Technician in Whitehorse, Yukon. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in AV systems, alongside strong experience in event production, logistics and coordination, and staff management. You will play a key role in the delivery of corporate events, festivals, and digital content production throughout the Yukon Territory and beyond
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio visual equipment for a variety of events, including corporate gatherings, festivals, and digital content productions.
- Coordinate logistics and event timelines, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery of technical services.
- Manage and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting professional growth.
- Maintain inventory and service schedules and repair AV systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to assess needs, provide recommendations, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Ensure safe operation and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support video recording, streaming and post-production when required.
- Solid stage management and communication skills
Requirements:
Completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate in Audio Visual Technology, Broadcast Engineering or related fields.
Minimum 2 years experience in a professional AV production company
At least 1 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Experience with production logistics (transportation, rigging, planning)
Working in remote northern climate settings an asset
Strong working knowledge of digital audio consoles (e.g. Digico, Allen & Heath), projection, LED walls, and DANTE/AV-over-IP systems
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Ability to lift 50 Lbs. work at heights, operating lifts or rigging systems.
Minimum Valid Class 5 driver’s license required, Class 4 or Class 3 with air brake endorsement is an asset.
