Full-Time Sales Associate (NOC64100)

We're looking for a full-time lead-retail sales clerk in downtown Whitehorse, North of Ordinary Merchandise. This business is now under new management and is under the banner of North of Ordinary and will begin many changes, which is now under new management and will be branded as North of Ordinary Merchandise.

Your skill set includes exemplary customer service, in-depth knowledge of kitchenware and linen (towels and bedding), and experience serving coffee with a commercial espresso machine in our (near) future cafe.

You are a self starter and independent. You have an eye for detail when it comes to merchandising and are a team player.

Consideration includes multiple languages.

Starting wage is $18 per hour, dependent on experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• operating the computer POS system,
  
• assisting customers to find their ideal kitchenware and beddings via phone/email,
• handle packaging and preparation of online orders for shipment,
• curating relevant display based on stock and current promotions,
• working with our digital marketing team for marketing purpose,
• mentor and provide guidance to your junior staff,
• receiving, pricing, displaying, and storing inventory,
• operate a commercial espresso machine

Requirements:

• Previous experience in customer service and cash handling
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers,
• Knowledge of tea,coffe,spice,bedding and cookware products, including the capacity to explain features, give customers product information and provide knowledgeable guidance,
• Knowledge about digital marketing
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
• The job requires long hours of standing
