Opened in June 2016, Southern Lakes Resort has become a go-to place for the local communities of Tagish, Carcross and even Whitehorse. We offer a select menu of high quality dishes at an affordable price. Our restaurant athmosphere is rustic/contemporary and we take great pride in our personal and friendly service.

We are a small but dedicated team, looking for assistance to our Executive Chef - to help out with events, weekends and to do shift replacement.

Duties include:

- food preparation

- a-la-carte cooking

- preparing of 3-course meals for resident cabin guests

- maintaining general cleanliness of kitchen, food storage rooms and front-of-house

- serving/bartending if needed

- handling of customer payments

- guest interaction

Experience does not matter as much as the willingness to learn and the commitment to the job, our customers and the team. Eventually, candidate should be able to prepare full current menu on his/her own.

Still, experience in the culinary sector is preferred, including:

- food prepping

- prepare orders

- monitor stock

- ability to maintain quality of product and presentation under pressure

The position is part-time, Winter + Summer

Winter hours: approx. 10-15hrs/week

Summer hours: approx. 20-35hrs/week plus vacation replacement

Candidates should be willing to do one evening of test-work. The resort is located at Ten Mile Road in Tagish, off Carcross Road (approx. 1h20 drive from Whitehorse).
